At Valet Vet, we’re excited to build a long-term relationship with you and your pet, providing the highest level of care, right where your pet feels most at ease—at home.

Care Commitment

Patient Care

  1. Annual Exams: Regular checkups are key to catching any potential health issues early. That’s why we recommend an annual exam for all pets in our care to keep them healthy and thriving.

  2. Rabies Vaccination: To protect your pet and others, we require that all pets stay up to date on their rabies vaccinations, unless there’s a medical reason not to.

  3. Annual Testing: For your pet’s safety, we suggest annual fecal exams, heartworm tests (and tick fever tests for dogs), and routine bloodwork to monitor organ and blood health.

  4. Deworming and Parasite Prevention: We advise annual deworming, unless your pet is already on a parasite prevention plan. This helps keep your pet protected from harmful parasites year-round.

  5. Pre-Surgery Appointments: If your pet is scheduled for surgery, we’ll set up a pre-operative consultation to ensure they’re ready for the procedure.

  6. Low-Stress Handling: If your pet is anxious or fearful, we may recommend a low-stress handling consultation. This includes a treatment plan to make future visits as calm and stress-free as possible.

Fees

We believe in being transparent about the cost of care so that you can make informed decisions. Here's what you can generally expect for our services:

  1. House Call and Consultation Fees: Our consultations including the house call fee range from $199 to $260, depending on your location. This covers the first exam and the travel fee to your home, with additional charges for any diagnostics, treatments, or medications. Additional pets examined on the same day are discounted to $89.

  2. Preventive Care: On average, preventive care costs between $800 and $1,200 per pet annually. This includes routine exams, vaccinations, and any necessary testing to keep your pet in optimal health.

  3. Elective Surgeries and Dental Care: Elective surgeries, including dental and oral surgery procedures, typically range from $1,500 to $4,000.

  4. Spaying and Neutering: For spay or neuter procedures, the cost usually falls between $800 and $1,500 depending on the size of your pet.

  5. Diagnostic Tests: Depending on the complexity of the tests, you can expect diagnostic testing to range from $300 to $1500.

Pharmacy and Medications

  1. Medication Fulfillment: We offer direct access to preventative and maintenance medications, which are shipped straight to your home from our office, ensuring you receive high-quality, trusted products.

  2. Third-Party Prescriptions: While we prefer to handle medications in-house, we’ll provide written prescriptions for those who wish to use another pharmacy. Please note, we do not fax, call in, or email prescriptions to third-party pharmacies (like Chewy or 1800PetMeds).

  3. Controlled Substances: Refills for controlled substances require an in-person appointment for a written prescription. These cannot be mailed or emailed, but you can pick them up at our office.

  4. Refill Requests: Please allow 48 business hours for all prescription refill requests.

  5. Ongoing Monitoring for Medications: For pets on chronic medications, we’ll require routine bloodwork annually or semi-annually to ensure their treatment remains effective and safe.

Thank you for choosing Valet Vet! We look forward to working with you to provide the best care possible for your pet, and we appreciate your commitment to partnering with us on their health journey. Together, we can ensure your pet lives a long, healthy, and happy life!
